The amazing liver.
The liver is an amazing organ. It is the largest and hardest working organ in the body. It is your filter and cleanser of your blood stream. And it regulates fat and carbohydrate metabolism. The liver is a fat burning organ. A healthy liver removes dead cells, toxins from the blood stream which protects the immune system from overload. The liver is able to repair itself and grow new healthy liver cells.
Step 1 to reversing a fatty liver
A fatty liver responds well to nutritional medicine. The trick is catching it in the early stages before it is too late. One of the things to consider is a change in diet slowly transitioning to healthier foods. Add more veggies and fruits to your diet. And cut down on fast food, fried foods and sweets. Yes that’s right preferably no sweets. Or if you want to be like me cut down sugar altogether. It may seem drastic but if you have any of the symptoms above why not give it a try.
You can gradually cut down on the sugar. Cut down on sweet bread, cookies, soft drinks, sugar in your tea. I personally avoid sugar free anything. Some sugar substitutes may be worse than sugar. Healthy sugar substitutes are agave, stevia, monk fruit sweetener. I personally prefer stevia and it can be found in most grocery stores in powder form or liquid form. I prefer the liquid as it doesn’t have an after taste.
