However, one may work better than another for you. There are also 3 colors that not only help with seasonal depression but may also have greater benefits. Research shows green light may help with migraines. Blue light may help with sun damage and acne. Red light may offer help with fading scars and improving hair growth.

Oils that are helpful for depression are basil, bergamot, jasmine, melissa, neroli, rose, sandalwood, and lavender. Always do a skin test before applying essential oils to the skin. Essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oils like jojoba, sweet almond, or apricot oil when applied to the skin. Essential oils can cause skin irritation when applied directly to the skin.
