Take Time for Yourself

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by life, take some time out for yourself. Make sure you schedule regular breaks throughout the day. This will help you recharge and give you energy to tackle the rest of your tasks. Putting work first is part of our daily lives. But once you’re done with work leave everything related to work behind. Do not bring your work problems home.

Find Balance Between Work and Family Life

It’s easy to feel guilty when you’re not spending enough time with family members. In fact, studies show that people who spend more time at home tend to be happier than those who spend less time at home. Use a daily planner to schedule work and family time. Don’t forget to schedule time for yourself. You can schedule a facial, massage or a workout. Whatever relaxes you and helps you get rid of stress.

Be Realistic About Expectations

If you expect too much out of yourself, you’ll never achieve anything. By doing too much you can dilute your energy and efforts. Instead, focus on doing things that will make you happy. This includes taking care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. Often times we as women tend to get wrapped up in our family life and neglect ourselves. When you take time to socialize at events or while exercising you will feel clearer and energized.

Don’t Let Stress Overwhelm You

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when there are so many things going on at once. However, you need to take some time for yourself every day. That is what self-care is all about. This might mean spending an hour reading a book, listening to music, or meditating. If you have problems meditating, there are guided medications that can make it easier for you.

Practice Mindfulness

Being mindful means being aware of what you’re doing right now. Staying in the present moment is truly a gift. By staying in this moment, you are not thinking of the past problems or worry about the future.  It also means taking care of yourself by eating well, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and having fun.

About WellnessConscious 69 Articles
Welcome to my blog. I started this blog because of my passion for self-care and wellness. My name is Mary. I am a licensed Esthetician, certified Reiki practitioner/teacher and certified life and wellness coach. I started learning about herbs and alternative healing practices through my grandmother, who was a practicing herbalist and spiritual healer. During my infancy she would often treat me with herbal teas when I was sick. I learned a great deal from her. Throughout the years as a practicing healer with herbs, Reiki, meditation and other modalities I have found that the mind and emotions are the root cause of many diseases. I share in this blog what I have learned, practice and continue learning. So that you can benefit as much as I have. I am a single mother and currently a caregiver for my 98-year-old mother.
