Arthritis Treatment Options for Women

What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is a painful condition that affects millions of people in the United States. The most common type of arthritis is osteoarthritis, which occurs when cartilage wears down between bones in the body. Other types include rheumatoid arthritis, gout, juvenile arthritis, fibromyalgia, lupus, and psoriatic arthritis.

Exercise

There are several different treatments available for arthritis, including exercise, diet, medication, and surgery. Exercise helps reduce joint inflammation and improve mobility. A walk about 20 minutes long around the block or in a park can also help you destress. Yoga stretches are great for improving mobility and increasing flexibility. A healthy diet can help manage symptoms and prevent further damage to the joints. Surgery may be necessary to repair damaged joints or remove bone spurs.

Try Alternative Treatments

Natural treatments such as anti-inflammatory herbs, essential oils, and minerals can provide relief from pain and inflammation. If you are seeking drug free alternatives.

Anti-Inflammatory Herbs

Herbs that can provide help are turmeric, arnica, ginger, and cat’s claw. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory which can help ease joint pain. Arnica is also known for having ant-inflammatory effects and is great for bruises, joint pain, and muscle aches. Ginger is well known for being helpful with digestive issues, but did you know it also can be used for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and joint pain. Cat’s claw is also known as an anti-inflammatory herb that may help reduce swelling in arthritis.

Arnica Oil for knee pain.

Try this easy recipe of arnica oil and lavender for knee joint pain relief. In a tablespoon of arnica oil add 2 to 3 drops of organic lavender essential oil. And rub your knees front and back with the oil mixture. For deeper penetration add a heating pad for about 10 to 20 minutes. I would use low to a medium setting on the heating pad.

Be Patient

There are several different types of arthritis, each with its own symptoms and treatments. In general, however, there are two main types of arthritis: osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis occurs when cartilage breaks down between bones, causing friction and pain. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder that damages the lining of the joints. Both types of arthritis cause joint pain, stiffness, and swelling.

Welcome to my blog. I started this blog because of my passion for self-care and wellness. My name is Mary. I am a licensed Esthetician, certified Reiki practitioner/teacher and certified life and wellness coach. I started learning about herbs and alternative healing practices through my grandmother, who was a practicing herbalist and spiritual healer. During my infancy she would often treat me with herbal teas when I was sick. I learned a great deal from her. Throughout the years as a practicing healer with herbs, Reiki, meditation and other modalities I have found that the mind and emotions are the root cause of many diseases. I share in this blog what I have learned, practice and continue learning. So that you can benefit as much as I have. I am a single mother and currently a caregiver for my 98-year-old mother.
